Caleb

Caleb and I went sledding once and the sled cut his hand. He was completely pale and on the verge of passing out. We went to the nearest relative who was his doctor uncle and he got it completely sterilized and wrapped.

We went snowboarding a year later and he fell hard. He asked me if he clipped his edge and I said he had, then asked if I had seen it and I said I had, then asked if he hit his head and I said yes, then touched the back of his head and said it felt like it. Then he asked me if he clipped his edge and I said yes, then asked if I had seen in and I said ummmm yeah, then asked if he hit his head and I said...... yes...., then touched his head and said it felt like it. Then he asked if he clipped his edge....

We went into the first aid room and they asked him what his name was and where he lived and how old he was etc. He knew his name but looked quizzically at me for confirmation when he said he lived in Layton and said he was ummmm, 25? and the medics asked me if he was right and I said I had no idea but that sounded pretty good. They told me to keep him awake for the next 5 hours and watch that he doesn't hurt himself or pass out.

We were walking to my car and he asked if we did any snowboarding. I said we had and he said he didn't remember any of it. He asked if he was dating Becky and I said yeah. I started driving home and he asked if he clipped his edge and I said yes, then asked if I had seen it and I said yes, then asked if he hit his head and I said yes, then he touched his head and we both said it felt like it.
He wanted to know everything that had happened while snowboarding before he fell. I gave him a run down of the day. He wanted to know everything that had happened before he fell and I said you just asked that and he got really sad and said sorry. He asked about everything that had happened before he fell and I said Caleb, we kissed. He said no way, I didn't forget that, did we really? I don't believe it. He asked if he fell and asked if he already asked that, I said yes and he said he was sorry. He asked what happened before he fell, asked if he already asked that, I said no and he asked what happened before he fell.

We got to his house and none of his family was home besides his youngest two siblings. He went up to his room and sat on his bed and asked me where his basketball shorts were. I said I didn't know and he sadly said he didn't either. He asked where his basketball shorts were and I said I didn't know and he asked if I could look. I asked him if he were to put basketball shorts away right now, where would he put them and he said the top drawer. I opened the drawer and there were brand new basketball shorts sitting on top. He asked for them both and said he remembered these shorts and loved them. He asked where he got them and I said I didn't know. He sat with a pair in each hand and happily looked at them for ten minutes. I went downstairs and asked his little sister when his parents were coming home and she didn't know. I went back upstairs and Caleb wasn't in his room. I found him in the bathroom clutching onto the sink sobbing. He said he didn't know what was going on and what happened and if he clipped his edge and if I had seen it and if he hit his head and it felt like it.

He asked for his basketball shorts and I knew right where they were. He asked me where he got them and I said I didn't know. He held on to them both and calmed down and his mom came in and I went home.
